Unit 4
1. From Katie Conway @ Roosevelt: Just wanted to give first grade teachers a phonics idea - in unit 4 they use linking cubes with letters for the first few sessions.  Instead of taking a lot of time to create these, I just used a modified version of our Fundations magnet boards (saved me a ton of time).

  2. Information from Heinemann:
    A Note About Resource Packs
The Resource Packs are composed of resources made from good-quality card stock, all beautifully illustrated and printed in 4-color. Each resource pack contains a variety of full-color, illustrated, posters; charts; picture, photo, word, and letter cards; copies of poems and songs; assessment materials; and much more—about 40 pounds of resources per grade level! While these items won’t last forever—especially when used by many small hands—they are not meant to be consumed and re-purchased every year. Heinemann will offer replacement sets in smaller subsets of the big package, so that, when the time comes, schools and districts can replace worn or lost card stock.

  3. Hello 1st Grade! Some of you are getting into digraphs so here are the lessons where you can find digraphs introduced for the first time in kindergarten. You can see the language they use when first introduced and if you need to you can teach these lessons!
Hope all is going well. Please contact me if you need anything!

  5. Hope all is going well! In the Phonics UOS folder (int the drive under RW) I placed a word wall with just the kindergarten snap words on it. This may be helpful for assessing at the beginning of the year or for student's who are working on their kindergarten snap words. (I found it in Unit 5 of Grade 1 PUOS). As always please call or email with questions!
